Saucony Triumph 22 Review

Orange and white Saucony running shoe on white background

The Saucony Triumph 22 is a premium daily trainer that is to say the least quite different. It one of the most durable shoes that I have ever used and on top of that the upper leads the industry in breathability. I have really enjoyed testing this shoe over the past weeks and I am really excited to share my thoughts.

In Saucony Triumph 22 Review I will be taking you through every detail of this very unique daily trainer.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

My First Impressions

When I first took this shoe out of the box I was instantly drawn to the quality of the stitching through out the whole shoe. I also noticed how the upper was quite thick but it looked very breathable so I was looking forward to trying it out.

For my first test run I took these on an 8km easy run and I have to say, I was impressed. The upper as I had suspected was warm but very breathable. This is a very unique combination and for a cold country like Scotland (where I am from) this works very well.

Moving on the bounce was good and I took them off feeling very happy and excited for my next run in them.

Why you should buy this shoe

If you are looking for a premium daily trainer that can keep your feet and the right temperature in whatever weather then this is the shoe for you. I know I might be focusing too much on this point but I was blown away by the upper. The rest of the shoe is also amazing.

Why you should not buy this shoe

I really like this shoe but it is slightly pricey. Just like loads of other running shoes that I have reviewed the great quality of build and the cool features do come at a cost. This is not a problem if you have very deep pockets but for most it is not ideal.

Upper of the shoe

By this point you are probably thinking “not more chat on the upper” but the upper on this shoe is like nothing I have seen before. It kept my feet feeling support, cool and as you might have guessed I really like it.

Foam of the shoe

The foam on this shoe was remarkably stable and yet it had a nice bit of energy return. The PWRUN pebax foam on this shoe was stacked high and when I was using this shoe for my easy running it made me feel like I was running on clouds.

Sole of the shoe

Nowadays almost all soles of running shoes have some good traction and some are quite light weight. There are also a few which are very durable, this one leads the way in all three of those categories. It is quite rare to see this!

Conclusion to this Saucony Triumph 22 Review

To conclude I just want to say what a big fan of this shoe I am. Even though I had to dig quite deeply into my pockets to buy them it was well worth it once I did.
