New Balance 860 V14 Review

The New Balance 860 V14 is a well cushioned daily trainer that offers a good level of pronation support. In this New Balance 860 V14 review I will go over my experience with this model and see how it compares to its competitors.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

New Balance 860 V14 First Impressions

At first I was imrpessed with the aesthetics of the shoe. I liked the colourscheme of the shoe and I occasionally wore this shoe as casual wear. Anyway onto its performance.

The midsole was soft and comfortable while still offering good levels of stability and support. My first run was a 10km mid tempo run and I was really happy with how these shoes performed.

My feet felt fresh at the end of the run and I felt as though I could wear these shoes all day still feel great which is rare in most shoes. I also liked how breathable the upper felt while still keeping some heat for when running in cold winter conditions.

I was also happy with how much support this model offered when it comes to preventing overpronation. What I liked most about it was that when you need support it is there for you however when you don’t need it the shoe will not interfer.

why should you buy these shoes?

If you are in the market for a highly cushioned daily trainer that offers high levels of comfort, stability and speed assistance then this is an excellent choice as this model does it all. If you have issues with overpronation then this shoe will help you correct this issue with ease.

WHy should you not buy these shoes?

If you are in the market for a lightweight daily trainer with high levels of speed assistance then this is not the model for you. I would recommend looking at either the mizuno Wave Rebellion Flash 2 or the Adidas Takumi Sen 10.

Upper of the shoe

The upper is made from a soft engineered mesh which is breathable enough for summer but closed enough to not let cold air in during the winter. The plastic heel cup offers the heel some support. The padding around the heel and the cuff makes this shoe very comfortable for everyday running.

The tongue has the same level of padding and is gusseted.

foam of the shoe

The foam of this shoe is made from Fresh foam X which stiffens the midsole and then the top layer offers a softer feel which creates a perfect combination of speed and comfort.

The shoe also works wonders for over pronators by adding extra levels of support into the shoe. I had an issue with overpronation and this shoe worked like magic for me.

sole of the shoe

There is a good thick layer of rubber on the outsole. The outsole isn’t one piece, it’s split with flex grooves running between the different sections which gives the shoe some lateral and medial flex.

The outsole rubber helps offer excellent durability and grip which means you can feel confident running acroos wet or dry surfaces. It also means that this shoe lasts for a long time. I wore this model for over 50 miles and there was little to no signs of wear and tear.

conlcusion to the New Balance 860 V14 review

Overall, I would highly recommend this shoe for daily training especially if you have issues with over pronation. This shoe worked miricales for me and I could not recommend it enough for people in the same boat as me.
