Brooks Hyperion 2 Review

In a world where there are so many good running shoes the rate of innovation has increased drastically as each shoe company jostles to get ahead. The product of that innovation is the Brooks Hyperion 2 which is an up tempo daily trainer like no other.

In this Brooks Hyperion 2 Review I will be taking you through every detail of one of my all time favourite shoes.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

My First Impressions

I ran In the previous version of this shoe and I absolutely loved them. For this reason I had some very high expectations and on first look I think these shoes might have met them.

I was itching to run in them so for a first run I took them on an 6km threshold run and they were some noticeable improvements. My favourite one being the increased level of cushion. In my opinion this was a much needed update.

Moving on from that the upper was still very supportive but this time it was more breathable. Own first impressions I was very impressed.

Why you should buy this shoe

If you are looking for a well built tempo shoe that can double up as a daily trainer then look no further than this exact shoe. It really has everything you would want from a tempo shoe and then it can help you on your easy runs as well a bit like this shoe.

Why you should not buy this shoe

I really like this shoe and I am okay with a little bit of less cushion but for some having loads of cushion is just what they like. My Brother Jake is one of those people and if you like a max cushion shoe then this just isn’t for you.

Upper of the shoe

The upper of the shoe has been upgraded quite significantly in terms of breathability and it has still held onto the supportive nature that I became such a fan of in the old shoe. The Upper on this shoe is sublime!

Foam of the shoe

Even though the foam on this shoe isn’t stack very high the foam that is there is very responsive, and comfortable. I think my favourite part of this whole shoe is how lightweight the whole shoe is. It is tough to beat the feeling that gives you when you are running.

Sole of the shoe

The sole of this shoe is all around reliable. It is nothing special but it is durable, grippy and lightweight. No complaints here.

Conclusions to this Brooks Hyperion 2 review

On the whole I think that this is one of my all time favourite shoes and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lightweight and well made shoe.
