Asics Metaspeed Edge Paris Review

Green and red Asics running shoes on white background

Sine the dawn of super shoes Asics has been at the forefront of innovation and improvement. The latest version of their carbon shoe range is something that is quite special. Judging by the name it is clearly intended for this year’s olympics and after testing this shoe I am expecting great things.

In this Asics Metaspeed Edge Paris Review I will be taking you through the good and the bad of the one of the most innovative running shoes on the market.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

My First Impressions of the shoe

When I first took the shoe out of the box and felt the foam I was surprised at how firm it was. Usually with carbon plated super shoes the foam is very soft and bouncy but this one was different and I was intrigued to see what sort of bounce the shoe offered.

For my first run in this shoe I was very impressed. I took these shoes out for a 5km park run and right from the get go the energy return was amazing. I also noticed the insane traction. I felt like I was wearing spikes. These shoes helped me get to a time which for me is quite good at 17:16.

Why you should by the shoe

If you are looking for a top level super shoe with an amazing name and good style then this is the shoe for you. The shoe is clearly very high quality which is to be expected given the price tag. I have reviewed many super shoes in my time and there is not a single one with this combination of traction, weight and stability.

Why you should not buy this shoe

One major reason to avoid this shoe is the fact that it is not very well suited to marathons which is fine if that is not your thing but it is just too firm. Unfortunately I didn’t run a marathon in these but based on my extensive research.

Upper of the foam

The upper of this shoe was very well woven and it kept my foot supported very nicely. I was also impressed with the breathability that I got from it. Even on a hot day, my feet stayed cool and on the whole I couldn’t fault the upper.

Foam of the shoe

The foam on this shoe was very firm which if I am honest made me have my doubts but as soon as I took these out for some fast running I understood why. It was one of the only shoes I have ever worn to combine top level stability with top level energy return.

Sole of the shoe

As I have mention before the traction on this shoe was honestly something else. It honestly felt like I was wearing spikes. I have never before seen such amazing traction. And to top it all off the sole was also very lightweight.

Conclusion to this Asics Metaspeed Edge Paris Review

To conclude I think that this is an amzing shoe and if you have the money then I would definitely recommend it.
