Asics Gel Nimbus 26 Review

The Asics Gel nimbus 26 is a neutral daily trainer that is the latest and the best in the nimbus range. It is comfortable, breathable and in true Asics fashion better than last time. I have really enjoyed testing these shoes over the past few months and I have to say that I am impressed.

In this Asics gel cumulus 26 I will be taking you through every detail of this quality daily trainer.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

My First Impressions of the shoe

Upon first impressions this shoe felt so soft and comfortable. I think this is one of many areas where this shoe shines. I also like how the shoe was stylish enough for it to be used at other events that aren’t necessarily related to running.

For the all important first run I took these shoes out to a park near my home and I cranked out and 15km long run. I say cranked because I was tired not cause the shoes made it unpleasant. In fact quite the oposite, these shoes delivered a comfortable ride that left me feeling happy for the rest of the day.

Why you should buy the shoe

As you might have heard me mention just a few times so far, these shoes feel so comfortable. I don’t know weather it is the ff blast foam or the breathable and secure upper but they are just so comfortable. Aside from that this shoe is very stable and very well crafted.

Why you should not buy the shoe

Although this shoe is great and it is not too expensive it does not deliver the best energy return ever and it is quite heavy. This means that if you are looking for a daily trainer that can double up as a workout shoe then you would want to consider a lighter and faster option.

Upper of the shoe

The upper of this shoe is exactly what I would want from an upper. It has supreme durability, it is very breathable and it is also quite light even though the rest of the shoe isn’t. I am impressed with this part of the shoe.

Foam of the shoe

The FF blast foam on this shoe is very soft and on this shoe it has been formed in a way that gives loads of added protection to heel strikers. To top all of that off it is also very stable so in total the foam on this shoe does the job and then some.

Sole of the shoe

The sole of this shoe was very thick and the traction was great. The sole being very thick worked wonders for it’s durability but it did add a fair bit of extra weight which wasn’t ideal.

Conclusions to this Asics Gel Nimbus 26 Review

To conclude I just want to say that I think this shoe is a great option for any neutral runner who wants a reliable and did I mention comfortable daily trainer. I am a big fan of this shoe and I look forward to testing future versions.
