Adidas Supernova Rise Review

The Adidas Supernova Rise is an amazing daily trainer that can be used for a variety of different activities. It is described as versatile, comfy and fast. I have reaslly enjoyed testing these shoe over the past few months.

In this Adidas Supernova Rise Review I will be taking you through every detrail of this amazing running shoe.

A good level of cushioning is an essential component of a great shoe. A cushioned midsole helps relieve stress from the joints and provides support that makes long distance runs much easier.

Good support is essential for all runners, so it is very important that when buying trainers an individual buys running shoes that have enough support. That may look different for all runners but it is important to consider.

It is important that a supportive running shoe provides a stable platform and reduces the risk of potential injuries.

I believe that it is important to buy shoes that have been built to last. If you are going to spend your own money on shoes then they should stay in good working condition for many months to come.

Making sure your shoes fit properly is very important as if a shoe is too big it can cause the shoes to start to rub against you feet causing blisters and other discomforts. By not having a shoe that fits it will also get rid of the possibility of a comfortable run.

Breathable materials in the upper part of the shoe helps keep the feet cool and dry during runs. This is because it helps prevent the build up of sweat and moisture in the shoe which reduces discomfort and irritation when running.

A breathable upper shoe enhances comfort and can be a life saver when running in hot days as it helps prevent overheating. This makes shoes with this feature an excellent choice as well as a comfortable fit.

Running shoes can get really expensive and if you are someone that runs a lot you will have to keep coming back to buy more. This can really add up which is why I have added cost to the list of important factor.

Energy Return

There is no better feeling than being propelled by a responsive running shoe. A running shoe should that gives energy back to the runner can make all types of runs feel so much nicer. This category is even more important in race day shoes.

Adidas Supernova Rise First Impressions

My first run was a 10km medium paced run and my first thought when I started running was that the ride was firmer than I expected, however it is still softer than the Novablast 4.

I loved the forefoot rocker which assisted transitions and the smooth ride. It also allowed me to run at faster paces which I really liked for daily training and it allowed me to push myself harder during sessions.

It felt comfortable at slow paces but it also felt like it could increase the pace if I needed to go faster. The support rods at the bottom of the shoe helped the shoe remain stable as well as providing efficient transitions.

One criticism of the shoe would be that the upper did feel a little too snug, particularly in the forefoot. For people with wider feet I would recommend going half a size up to counter this problem.

Why Should You Buy The Shoe

If you’re looking for a shoe to assist you with hard training sessions then this is a fantastic model for you. It is durable and stable and you can use it for all kinds of running due to its versatility.

Why Should You Not Buy The shoe

If you are in the market for a lightweight and flexible trainer then this shoe does not offer that. Equally if you have wide feet this shoe does run narrow so you should either go half a size up or look at other models.

Upper of the shoe

The Adidas Supernova Rise’s upper prioritises comfort over minimising weight. It uses a sandwich mesh which is soft and plush however it doesn’t have high levels of breathability. This means during hot conditions your feet will get very sweaty and will overheat but the up side to this is that during cold conditions it keeps your feet warm and insulated.

I bought this model true to size however this was a mistake, I wish I had gone a half size up. My feet are on the narrow side anyway so for runners who have wide feet then this shoe is not a good option for you.

Foam of the shoe

The Adidas Supernova Rise has brand new Dreamstrike+ PEBA foam in the midsole which isn’t the most energetic however it does offer high levels of energy return.

The forefoot contains a mild rocker which gives you a slight forward tipping feeling. The rocker plate is aided by the rods which help stiffen the forefoot. The rocker helps you work less during easy and tempo runs.

Sole of the shoe

Underneath the insole there are 2 large holes in the strobe lining (1 at the heel and 1 at the forefoot). Adidas have been doing this for years so this isn’t anything new. It increases the softness under the heel and the ball of the foot because it gives your foot direct access to the foam in the shoe.

Conclusion to this Adidas Supernova Rise Review

Overall, this is an amazing daily training shoe and it is as close to perfect as you will get. If it was only slightly wider in the forefoot I would have no critiques to make of the shoe. I couldn’t recommend this shoe enough, I personally use it for my training sessions and find it offers fantastic performance along with being comfortable.
